The Tunisian Mesh Faux Cardigan is stitched flat using the Tunisian Mesh st and Regular crochet to create a fitted and shaped cardigan. Mattress stitch is used to seam the garment with its delicate seams creating a professional finish to this gorgeous cardigan!
The Faux part of the design is specifically designed to ease the struggle of keeping a cardigan buttoned over curvy bodies!
But I also include instructions for making it a traditional cardigan with buttons!
Shaping is used throughout the design making this an intermediate-level Tunisian crochet pattern!
This pattern is written for sizes XS (28-30" at the widest point) to 6X (64-66" at the widest point) with 2-4 inches positive easy (a relaxed fit) and with each size color-coded so you can follow along with your size!
You will need a 5.5mm Tunisian crochet hook with a 5-7" cord, or a straight metal Tunisian hook will do! I also recommend a 5.5mm regular crochet hook for the ribbing and edging detail! Much easier than using a Tunisian hook to do regular crochet! You will also need a tapestry needle for the ends, scissors, and a tape measure to check the gauge! I recommend still adding buttons because buttons are excellent! I used 5 1/2" buttons, but feel free to use as few or as many as you like!!!
